Mission and Vision

The Mission
Faith Bible Church desires to be a place where anyone can come and be equipped to impact their community. We are all moving along in our spiritual journey and we want to have a place where everyone can grow in their next step. We are building a church where you can:
Worship – Serve – Find Community – and Give.

The Vision
Faith Bible Church exists to equip Christ’s Church to impact our communities by providing opportunities for people to:
  • Experience the love and the salvation that comes from the cross of Jesus Christ.
  • Grow in their knowledge and understanding of God’s purpose for their life.
  • Find opportunities to practice their faith by serving and loving others.

What We Believe

The following are the core beliefs of Faith Bible Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God
We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who came to earth as a human to reveal God and to become the Savior to a lost world.

Revelation
We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Because of this we believe the Bible is without error.

Mankind
We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but broke that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.

Salvation
We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only basis for the forgiveness of sin. God freely offers salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin.

The Church
We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. The fruit of the Christian life is born out by loving our neighbors.

Resurrection
Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.

Being Evangelical

What is an Evangelical? At FBC, if we are going to call ourselves Evangelical, we follow the general description given by the National Association of Evangelicals.

"Evangelicals take the Bible seriously and believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The term “evangelical” comes from the Greek word euangelion, meaning “the good news” or the “gospel.” Thus, the evangelical faith focuses on the “good news” of salvation brought to sinners by Jesus Christ." NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF EVANGELICALS

"Evangelicals are a vibrant and diverse group, including believers found in many churches, denominations and nations." NAE

Historian David Bebbington also provides a helpful summary of evangelical distinctives, identifying four primary characteristics of evangelicalism:

CONVERSIONISM:
The belief that lives need to be transformed through a “born-again” experience and a life long process of following Jesus.

BIBLICISM:
A high regard for and obedience to the Bible as the ultimate authority.

ACTIVISM:
The expression and demonstration of the gospel in missionary and social reform efforts.

CRUCICENTRISM:
A stress on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross as making possible the redemption of humanity.

These distinctives and theological convictions define us — not political, social or cultural trends. In fact, many evangelicals rarely use the term “evangelical” to describe themselves, focusing simply on the core convictions of the triune God, the Bible, faith, Jesus, salvation, evangelism and discipleship.

Faith Bible Church is a member with the National Association of Evangelicals.
