Discipleship Philosophy

FBC Hope is a Christ-centered, faith-based discipleship/counseling ministry of Faith Bible Church dedicated to helping individuals and families find healing and transformation through God's word, counsel, and prayer. FBC desires to see lives transformed for God's glory. This includes recognizing and repenting of sin that is getting in the way of our transformation, recognizing who we are in Christ, and recognizing the power that comes from walking with the Holy Spirit.

FBC Hope Discipleship Process

FBC Hope takes the counseling process very seriously. We understand the limits of counseling, the times of referral, and the seriousness of looking out for you or your family's safety. So, we will work with you to make this the most valuable experience possible.

When you schedule an appointment, you will be directed to fill out an Intake Form. FBC Hope values your time, and so our intake form will help gather the information that would have been collected during the first meeting. This gives us all a jump on the healing process! Through the counseling process, we will address faulty views that hold you back, family and life experiences that caused you to be stuck, and ways to seek healing through new behaviors, thoughts, and patterns guided by the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Nick takes a solution-focused approach to recognize and build off of your current strengths and successes in life. This is based on the belief that we are a new creation in Christ and therefore can break free, with the Holy Spirit's help, from the negative patterns and behaviors that have hindered us in life.
John 10:10
A thief (the world, our negative past, those who would abuse us) comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I (Jesus) have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.

Starting the Process

Appointments

Duration of Counseling

  1. Contact FBC to schedule an appointment. Our contact information is at the bottom of this page.
  2. Download the intake form to fill out and bring to the first appointment. (See below)
  3. Spend time in prayer about the presenting issue, asking God to begin to grant wisdom in the healing process.
  4. Attend your first appointment!
Counseling sessions are different than casual visits with the Pastor. Please be sure to schedule your counseling appointment with the office prior to just showing up to talk. Pastor Nick loves to have spontaneous visits, but counseling usually requires a more focused path.

Counseling appointments start at the agreed-upon start time at scheduling. If you need to show up late to a meeting, you may not be guaranteed the full hour. If you have an appointment scheduled and need to cancel or reschedule, please contact the church office as soon as you become aware of this need.
Strategic short-term counseling ranges from 1-5 sessions at 1 hour per session. Following the first session, the pastor will set the number of sessions within the 1-5 session range. Issues requiring more extensive care than five sessions will result in a referral to a qualified professional counselor.
